CBS Stations has unveiled its eighth augmented-/virtual-reality studio at KTVT in the Dallas–Fort Worth market—the first in Texas—with groundbreaking broadcast technology designed for immersive news and weather segments. Covering approximately 20,384 ft³, the studio debuted on June 23, featuring chief meteorologist McKenna King’s inaugural immersive forecast. The platform, developed by CBS Bay Area, delivers photorealistic 3D visuals like simulated clouds and wind patterns, transforming storytelling. CBS Stations President Jennifer Mitchell said the initiative reflects ongoing investment in local journalism by enhancing viewer engagement through visual innovation.
